Martin Mills Managing Director
Martin Mills has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Prior to setting up Millstream
Underwriting, Martin spent eleven years at
Home and Overseas Insurance Company where he was responsible for the sales,
development and underwriting teams, writing a book of £129.1 million premiums.
Home and Overseas had an extensive client list including from the travel world,
Thomas Cook, Thomson Travel Group, Cosmos, Club Med and from the banking sector Nat West, Halifax, RBS,
Barclays and HSBC. Overall this represented around 25% of the UK
travel insurance market.
Simon McVey Development Director
Simon joined Millstream in 2004 and has 20 years experience in the personal lines
insurance sector. Before joining Millstream, Simon spent 5 years with Collinson
Group where he was responsible for the development of its non UK insurance
business, and from the beginning of 2003, management of its UK agency portfolio.
Prior to joining Collinson Group, Simon spent 13 years with General Accident/CGU.
Simon held a number of operational, underwriting and management positions
including senior underwriter of its PA & Sickness and Travel portfolios and Sales &
Development manager for its direct division.
Martin and Simon are associates of the Chartered Insurance Institute and are both accredited with Chartered Insurer status.
Stuart Russell Financial Controller
Stuart joined Millstream in 2005 and is responsible for the accounting functions
and financial administration. Stuart comes from a corporate accounting background and
has sat on a number of company boards most recently within the Collinson Group and
also at the Pencol Engineering Group.
Dympna Carroll Operations Manager
Dympna has been with Millstream since 2001. She is fundamental to the smooth running of
the business and is responsible for supply chain management, office administration
and back office technical support. Prior to joining Millstream, Dympna was Office
Manager at Smith IR Ltd, and an Operations Team Leader with Lloyds TSB Group.
Dympna also gained travel claims experience whilst working for 2 years at Alpha
Claims Ltd.
Paul Lancaster Assistant Operations Manager
Paul joined Millstream in 2007 having has spent the last 7 years in the UK travel insurance
sector in both direct and broker driven travel teams. He works in our busy client support and
operations team and also takes responsibility for our liaison with the FSA and Financial Ombudsman's Office.
Paul has a BA in history from the University of Otago in his native New Zealand and has keen interests in choral and opera music and music education.
