The current political uncertainty and consequent security risk in Gambia, has led the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to advise against all but essential travel.  You can find their latest guidance at

Nexus Conquers Three Peaks and Smashes Charity Target


A team from leading independent specialty MGA Nexus Underwriting Management Limited recently completed the Nexus Three Peak Challenge which involved climbing the highest mountains in three different countries in the United Kingdom over a 24 hour period: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

The Nexus team of 22 walkers set out to conquer the Three Peaks and to reach a target of £10,000 for their chosen charity Starlight Children’s Foundation. To date, the total money raised is now well in excess of £18,000.

Brussels Attacks


The shocking events in Brussels this morning have understandably prompted a surge of enquiries from travellers. We will continue to keep a watching brief and in the meantime would advise:  

  • If your flight back from Brussels has been cancelled, speak with your airline who are required to provide accommodation and subsistence expenses whilst rearranging a flight back to the UK.
  • If you have not yet travelled and your organiser or airline has cancelled the trip, full refunds should be provided by the organiser/airline.

British aviation security experts meet in Egypt to discuss return of Sharm flights


Senior aviation and counter-terrorism experts from the UK are in Cairo this week to discuss plans to allow British flights to return to Sharm El-Sheikh as soon as possible. The delegation, headed by the prime minister's envoy on aviation security Sir William Patey, were sent to implement a joint plan towards reinstating flights between Britain and the Red Sea resort. British Ambassador John Casson said talks with Egyptian ministers, officials, and top security experts have been progressing well.
